"Messung" is the brainchild of Mr. Farook Merchant, innovator and entrepreneur par excellence, who started from a humble makeshift establishment and with his relentless efforts created The Messung Group of Companies, a globally recognized conglomerate.
Established in 1981, Messung pioneered indigenous PLC technology in India which revolutionized automation of diverse sectors such as Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Textiles, Printing, Packaging and Plastics. With extensive collaborations and application diversity, which reinforced the Group's knowledge and experience, Messung made its mark at the forefront of industry for over 3 decades. In 2012, Messung sold its Factory Automation business to Mitsubishi Electric India.
Today, building on its domain knowledge and vast experience, Messung continues diversify into exciting new ventures, and introduce cutting-edge products and services in India.

Mr. Farook Merchant, Chairman and Managing Director of Messung Group of Companies, launched Messung Systems in 1981 and pioneered the introduction of the first Programmable Logic Controller in India. He successfully built Messung from a one-man company to a 450-member team with a national presence and global collaborations. He has received several awards for designing a number of indigenous and innovative automation products at the regional as well as national level.
Mr. Merchant is a corporate leader with a strong sense of social responsibility. Currently, he has started two CSR initiatives, Nityaasha Foundation and GyaanAdab Centre, both registered charitable trusts. Nityaasha focuses on providing medical aid and holistic support to children suffering from Type1 diabetes and epilepsy. The GyaanRuchi initiative under the GyaanAdab banner looks to empower women through education and help them have a fair opportunity in society.
